Completing the Transaction Screen

This month we’re focusing on how to fill out and complete the Transactionsscreen. The Transactions screen contains the important financial and transactional information for the loan.

Holiday Hours

Our offices will be closed Thursday the 25^th and Friday the 26^th in observance of the holiday. We will resume normal business hours Monday, November 29.

Compliance Update

We have a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director – Rohit Chopra. Chopra was confirmed by the Senate to lead the CFPB as its third presidentially nominated and senate-confirmed director since its founding. He assumed office on October 12, 2021.

Chopra comes to the CFPB with significant experience. He worked with the team that implemented the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act’s mandate establishing the CFPB after the 2008 financial crisis. Most recently, Chopra served as Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission.

The mortgage industry widely expects the CFPB to increase enforcement under Chopra, but it remains to be seen how aggressive that enforcement will be. Industry stakeholders hope the CFPB will understand how much has changed since the 2008 crisis and post-recession reforms.

What's New?

Path October Release

The latest Path release went live on October 31, 2021. Here’s a quick overview of some of the updates and enhancements to your Path software that were included in this release.

New Features

• Added the ability to change a liability’s type via new Change Liability Type button in the Borrower Screen
• Added the ability to transfer one borrower’s liability to another via new Copy Liability to Another Borrower button in the Borrower Screen
• Added the MySign button to the Details Screen in the Documentssection
• Added the ability to download each document as an individual PDF file in the Documentssection
• Added the ability to make document requests from within a condition via the new document Request checkbox in the Conditions section
• Added new Add Document From User has the option of adding documents from their computer or from a document list already in the Documents section
• Added the Signature field in the User Authentication section of the User Profile tab. Users can now upload a signature to sign documents within the loan

Enhancements

• Removed the Remember Me checkbox from the Login screen
• Made the Underwriter field in the Loan Transmittal screen editable
• Updated the Loan Preparer section by adding the Title field in the Contacts Screen
• Enhanced the Borrower Acknowledgment section in the Borrower screen by adding the Non-Purchasing Spouse and Non-Borrower Household Member checkboxes for borrowers who satisfy these criteria
• Updated the Other Credits lightbox by adding the Closing Costs of Simultaneous Loan field which auto-populates the Closing Costs from the linked loan in the Transaction screen.
